Lunch at Hooked Fish and Chips. It's been on the list for years! Today we had a meeting nearby and made it happen! The offer is at all three locations: Fitzroy, Windsor & Glenferrie.

Lunch Specials - Even on Weekends!

Yes we are local, but still lunch deals are better :P

Plenty of seats, though if you come during the lunch rush. Never fear! They do takeaway and you can hang out in the common areas or park next to the library down the road.

Blue Grenadier with Chips & Salad

Lunch specials are my jam (onion plz) and here for $10 there's five options (one is not listed). As we've never been here before we chose the original battered.

There's four salads to choose from! Fish, salad/rice and chips is the offer.

Sweet Potato & Quinoa Salad

with spinach, red onion, pumpkin, with a sherry vinegar dressing

Free tomato sauce! Yes there's $1.50 sauce for the chips, and drinks but on a budget we skipped the sauce. There's free water and sauces (hot, hp and tomato) on the cart you can help yourself to.

The serving was huge! And this was one of those rare dishes where you get a carb, protein/omega3 and salad! Light and crispy, not at all oily were the deep fried components.

Chips were thick cut just like grilld but without the seasoning. Mine had no salt which was great as it was eat in and I could add salt to my tastes. We had HJ the other day and it was way too salty!

The salad dressing was complimentary to the salad and cut through the deep fried-ness of the fish.

Highly recommended this is a meal that will leave you full till dinner!

Service was very friendly and fast even though it was during the lunch peak and the place was almost full.
